문화연수: 제주도 Jeju Island Day 3

So... for the final day of Jeju, we all woke up in the wee hours of the morning where breakfast was bought and brought to us by the famous toast and coffee in Korea: Isaac. Then we did last minute packing, said goodbye to the awesome room that housed us for the last 2 nights and then made our way to the bus.

As usual, people were late so we had to wait. Since today we were to take a plane back to our home, we only had enough time to get to 1 location, have lunch and then we had to go check-in for our flights back. However, the one and only place we got to go had a more generous time limit so that we could enjoy ourselves to the fullest there: Mazeland.

This place is one of the bigger maze-type tourist attractions that Jeju has to offer. Koreans and tourists alike, there were many different kinds of people there. I believe this isn't really a kids' playground, but somewhat a place where everyone can enjoy, as family or as friends. There're 3 types of mazes inside, as per the 3 things that Jeju are mainly known to have a lot of: wind, women and stone. (As explained previously in the post on the first day, HERE)

We arrived shortly before 11am, and were told that we have more than an hour to try all the mazes before having to return for lunch, and subsequently the bus ride back to the airport. Everyone, excited, got a move on to get the maps and then proceeded to run through the different mazes available. I, on the other hand, just wanted to take photos in the otherwise man-made looking nature.

Before we went in, the entrance had a really mysterious looking pond next to it that emitted mist so we wanted to take some photos there before entering. Though, only Kiyo dared to take the step into there for fear of falling into the pond and getting all wet.

After going in, we could hear people running and screaming but the 3 of us just walked around slowly taking photos and appreciating the time we have left in Jeju. Anyhow, after a while we got tired of getting lost and getting into dead-ends so we started using the map to find the exit.

Hahahahahaha

The maze is beautifully constructed and the mist in the 3rd maze really made it a lot more fun because you can't see where you're going and you might end up running into a wall or something. On top of that, it made the weather really cooling even though it was hot and the sun was beating down on our backs.

Anyhow, we made it all the way to the end and went for lunch: Bibimbap Buffet. There were many different types of ingredients available to make our own bibimbap so we started experimenting and eating. After which, we all gathered back into the bus and awaited the long trip back to the airport.

After we arrived at the airport, we checked-in and then waited to go back to sunny Seoul. Then after that we went back to Gimpo Airport where we got onto the bus back to Cheonan. We arrived roughly around 5pm and then we all split ways back to the dormitories. It was a really tiring 3 day trip but indeed it was thoroughly fun and amazing at the same time.

Dreading the next few days of classes before we hit the weekend where we can finally rest our aching feet and get some rest before the TOPIK exams coming up.This 3 days came by really abruptly and ended just as abruptly. However, it was a really nice break for all of us throughout all the studying, hectic schedules and cramming. I appreciated the fact that this was a good break despite being untimely.

Looking forward to the next break (culture trip) available in the Winter!
