총엠티~ MT

Had this thing called the 총엠티 which is an MT (Membership Training) with our seniors as well in March. Hmm.. I think it means that it's organized by our seniors and whatever happens is planned by them too. Travelled down together with Keila and some friends. It was located in some isolated part of Seoul, right at the corner. (Total of 3 hours travel time) Got there and started relaxing and waiting...

First off was this cook-out thing

We were all separated into little groups of 6-8 and everyone had to bring their own cooking utensils, stoves, ingredients and had to decide on what to cook. Our group decided on making 비빔국수 (Spicy noodles) 파전 (Korean pancake) 유부초밥 (Fried tofu rice balls). And there were many other dishes which I have no idea what they were called, but tasted delicious.

I was making the fried tofu rice balls and they were really fun to make hahaha, it's like making kimbap or sushi. Anyway, after we were done making, I went around to take some photos of other people amidst their busyness.

Game 1

After we ended, it was games time! In the beginning, we started this game where people were to go to a booth to write down certain things, like names, actions, etc. So there were 3 boxes; Subject, Action, Object. So you would write things like a person's name, or an item, anything that was a noun, and then an action, like hug, hit, punch and things like that, and finally an object, and as the same as the subject, it could be anything, another person or an item.

So it was really funny watching as names were called out with certain actions and all. Some even reenacted scenes from dramas, and had to sing songs to certain people. It was really funny, and kinda scary but glad as well that nobody wrote my name hahaha.

Game 2

The next game we played was 이웃을 사랑한다 which means "Love your neighbor" and it's a little bit like Blow Wind Blow, but with a twist. So first everyone will sit in a circle, and then one person will be standing in the middle. A song is played by the host, and then within that song, people have to try NOT to be the one standing when the music stops.

So firstly, they will run up to anyone randomly and ask "당신이 이웃을 사랑합니까?" which means, Do you love your neighbor? If they were the reply yes, the two people on their sides would have to get up and switch seats with each other. If the asker is lucky enough, he or she would get to sit in one of the empty seats, and if not, they would have to ask another person.

However, if the recipient of the question says no, the asker would then ask "그럼 누구 사랑합니까?" which means, Then who do you love? And here, the person would say things like "안경을 쓰는 사람!", Those who are wearing spectacles! Or things like that. I was asked once or twice, and being bald, I said "머리카락 없는 사람", which means People who have hair, and that would literally be, everyone else.

Anyway, it would carry on until someone was left standing when the song ended, and from there, another 2 rounds would be played. In the end, those 3 people would have to drink an entire bottle of soju. The funniest thing is that, the one who lost last, would have to finish up the entire thing, no matter how much the other 2 drank. So if the first one who started drinking wanted to sabotage the other two, he or she could just have a sip, or even a droplet.

Game 3

The last game we played was called Zombies. So the huge crowd was divided into 2 groups, the first group would form the outer circle, and from the second group, a few people would be selected to be "zombies" and they would cover their eyes with jackets as shown in the photo below:

After which, the rest would be the civilians where they would have to not get caught till the end of the round and they would be considered to have "won". The thing about this game, is that you have to run around without getting caught by the zombies, at the same time the people who formed the ring outside would be pulling you to "join them". So you had to beware of both sides. It was really exhilarating and fun at the same time. I enjoyed myself tremendously. 

After which, everyone split into their own groups again, and started the same thing that happens everywhere: Drinking Games. There are SO many drinking games that many I would start a post just to go through all the games that I have been taught or introduced to. It was a lot of fun, and when people drink there are things called BGM - background music, where people will sing songs while the person who lost drinks.

Amidst all the gaming, the seniors were grilling meat for us. There was pork, beef and sea snails. The meat was amazing, especially when people drink, they would get hungry. I ate a lot, drank a lot, played a lot, and enjoyed myself thoroughly. 

After which, I stopped playing games because the ones who were really good and continued gaming joined this huge circle where they were all so pro that I didn't want to go in just to drink more and ruin their gaming speeds hahaha. So I just sat down with some of them, drank and talked. It's funny that I'm more willing to speak in Korean, even if making mistakes, when I'm a little high. Not only that, I feel that my brain works faster in finding words and piecing sentences together.

After awhile, I felt really tipsy and sleepy and decided to call it a night. Headed over to the sleeping room where people were already rolled up into a curl and sleeping soundly.

Got woken up by Keila around 530 and got ready to leave, together with the many others, walking all the way out, tired, dead-beat, a little drunk, lugging so much crap along. Finally got back around 8 something, took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and hit the sack....
