기엠티 ~ MT

So we had another round of MT (Membership Training) for just our class, where it's organized and run by our chairman and vice-chairmen. Well, the way I see it, it's just a time of gathering, playing games together and bonding. It's also an excuse to play the night away, drinking and having fun, with no adults or any sort of curfew, just like class chalets back in secondary school... without the alcohol. Hahaha.

The place was a little off Incheon (well, it's "a little" for Korea, but it took around an hour and 20 minutes just to finally get there and settle down) where we had to change a few buses and walk all the way in. The pension was beautiful, it had 2 huge rooms, 2 resting rooms, and an outdoor dining area with barbecue pits. The people who live in this neighborhood actually own a few properties like these and rent it out for party-uses. (What a great retirement plan)

So everyone got there around 4-5ish in the afternoon, and then the guys started preparing the barbecue. First things first, DINNER! So everyone was really excited since we were gonna get a lot of meat due to the fact that we earned money from our little 일일호프. So anyway, everyone was sitting down, having some food, drinks and just waiting for meat, meat and more meat.

Birds waiting in case of unattended meat lol

Went to take a walk to the beach after dinner to aid digestion. Apparently, the entire area is usually for locals to come and rent for the summer holidays. The place was loaded with seafood restaurants, and the workers were just trying to get us in to eat. The place was really quiet, maybe because it was still towards the end of spring. The beach wasn't that spectacular, maybe because it was dark. Neither was the water as clear as I hoped it to be. Looks just like east coast park if you ask me.. hahaha.

Anyway, went back and after a while activities started! There were a few activities planned for everyone before the drinking games started.. Let me see. I think we started off with introducing all our 마니또s. Before I go on to that, let me explain what 마니또 (ma-nee-toh) is. It's basically like the game "angels" or "secret santa" we play in Singapore, where you have a person who you buy gifts for, and someone would be buying gifts for you. Since it was during the examination period, we were supposed to write letters, buy gifts and little things to help motivate the person.

So after 3-4 weeks of that, we got to know who were the ones looking after us, and the ones we were looking after would find out who it was. The funny thing about this is, if you were caught red-handed or they knew it was you, you'd be drinking half a bottle of soju at this party.

The next activity we had was a radio-style program, where we had a male and female radio presenter, and people had to submit things they wanted to say anonymously through a form on the internet. So... there were many heartfelt things that were said to each other, even some unrequited love messages. It was a great time of warm, happy feelings.

And then... the games started haha. Everyone sat down in a huge circle and started playing drinking games. One day I should create a page just to introduce drinking games, how they are played and how they are sung. Then I should also do little videos to teach people... That sounds like a great idea, maybe I'll do it during the holidays. Anyway, after an hour or so of playing, I got sleepy and went to sleep while everyone else continued playing in smaller groups.

Got up the next morning wishing for water and my soft, comfortable bed.... cleaned and cleared up the place, and then took a shuttle bus back to school. Lugged my heavy self back into my room and drifted off to more deserved sleep...

Till next time~
