Lee & Won Flea Market 2016

In 2016, I was part of this scholarship called the Lee & Won Scholarship, and you can read more from here. So one of the activities that we had was the foreigners' flea market where we ran a booth selling things that we had donated or things that we have brought back from our own home countries in hope of promoting more cultural diversity in Korean society. One of the social initiatives that the scholarship students run is this Facebook page called 다한민국 as well, which you can see more over here. It's basically a page where it shares stories of foreigners living in South Korea and the main aim is to bridge the gap of misunderstandings and prejudices between Koreans and foreigners. The video above is made by two students during our batch for our cause. 

During the flea market, we sold products, did face painting, henna and also shared the news of our cause, in which all our proceeds were donated to an orphanage thereafter. We had a lot of fun running the booth, meeting many different people, and hopefully, making a difference in society. Enjoy the photos! 

All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I'm glad that I got to do it together with this great bunch of people. There's a meaningful message behind what the organization is trying to do, and I do hope that they succeed in time to come.
